How to Become Enlightened the Natural Way

Aug 12, 2009 09:35 PM

Contrary to popular opinion, enlightenment is not a spiritual, religious, mystical, divine, holy, magical, cosmic consciousness or universal wisdom experience. Nor is getting enlightened proof of having achieved adept status in any one or all of the former localities. To en-(or in-, as an intensifier) + lighten (i.e. get brighter or lighter) means to create an energy surge energy in a (i.e. any) living system. Energy surge happens when a problem is solved and the energy invested in its resolution released. Minor enlightenment is a frequent, everyday occurrence, major enlightenment rare. Full enlightenment is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Experience your current state fully.

Fully activate a real problem/need that you’ve got; or create an artificial problem, for instance, a game, like tiddlywinks.

Invest (i.e. add) energy to define and solve the problem or win the game.

Solve the problem, or win the game.

Experience fully the energy surge (i.e. the relative energy increase) that results from problem solving (or winning).

Percolate the energy throughout your body and mind to lighten it up.

If you can’t solve your problem, or win, plug into an external energy source, then perform steps 5 & 6

Tips

  • Perform all the steps @100%.
  • Fine-tune your capacity to experience even minimal enlightenments (i.e. energy surges).
  • If unsuccessful, simply pump in energy to generate an energy surge (or high) or release stored energy as a sudden rush.
  • Transform the energy surge (i.e. enlightenment) as happiness or joy; or reinvest it to solve an even more difficult problem or win a more advanced game.

Warnings

  • Enlightenment (i.e. energy surge) is not conserved. Don’t attach!
  • Avoid energy suckers.
  • Investing your energy wholly in one particular problem is dangerous because it leaves other problems you need to solve under-energised, hence depressed.
  • Investing your whole energy to solve an artificial problem, for instance, like skiing downhill @100kmph, is very risky, but great fun.

Things You'll Need

  • A problem, real or invented
  • The urge to be free (of drag) and happy
  • Normal random access capacity
  • Normal, albeit cleansed observation capacity
  • Normal, albeit unobstructed analysis capacity
  • Normal ability to decide/stop
  • A fully restored (from infancy) capacity to experience
